Abubakar Musa Idi-Ogede is a Professor in the Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ilorin with 17 years University teaching, research and administrative experience.

He was the Pioneer Head of Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Federal University of Gashua, He was also the second substantive Head of Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ilorin. He has been Chairman and members of many Committees at Departmental, Faculty and University levels. He is a Specialist in Fish Health, Biology and Toxicology. He has published a book titled: Fish Pathology in Perspective and more than forty-five papers in local, national and international journals of high repute. He has won three TETFund Research grants. Prof. Abubakar is a member of many professional bodies within and outside Nigeria.
